PADDLE FOR PEDALS 2019

On September 15th, 2019 join You Powered, South Coast Watersports, Ontario South Coast Bicycle Tours Inc, and other community members on a paddleboading fundraising adventure! This is the second annual event to support a bike program for people living with disabilities in Norfolk County.

This “by donation” event will start on Turkey Point beach on Sunday September 15th at 7am. We plan on leaving shore shortly after that. The goal is to reach Port Dover Beach within a few hours where a celebration will take place.

Expect a training program in August to get you ready for the big event. More details to follow.

We need your support to make this event a success! Challenge yourself physically by joining our flotilla or make a monetary donation to support the cause!

Here is more history about the event: In June 2018, Paul and Amelie from You Powered, attended a community bike fair in Norfolk County. During the event, they couldn’t help but notice the number of people living with disabilities riding dated bicycles that were barely safe for the road. Despite the condition of the bikes, the riders were completely excited about cycling. Their bicycle gives them a method of transportation that offers autonomy and much more.

Paul and Amelie were so moved by this that they have decided to support these cyclists with hopes to make their cycling experience safer.

In September 2018 the first Paddle for Pedals event took place!

Let’s paddle for pedals in Norfolk County!!!
